The Process

Phases of the Master Plan

The plan will be carried out in three broad phases: an initial outreach, information-gathering and analysis phase that will result in a findings report, draft principles and an analysis of the campus and its surrounding environment; a second phase where the planning principles will be confirmed, and the development of plan alternatives will begin; and lastly the third phase, where the plan alternatives will be refined to a preferred option, which will be developed and refined to result in the final plan document.  The plan commenced in April 2006 and is expected to be completed by Fall 2007.

The process will be inclusive, especially at the front end, with input from wide range of interested groups, both on campus and in our neighboring communities, particularly during the initial outreach and information gathering analysis phase.  Between April and the end of June 2006, the consultant team has already met with over 300 people, representing a variety of stakeholder groups, both on and off-campus, including Deans, Vice Provosts, faculty representatives, student groups, employees, municipal leaders and planning staff, and neighborhood groups.  Outreach to faculty and students will continue in the early Fall.
