Selection Process

CONSULTANT SELECTION PROCESS
The Consultant Selection was led by the University Planner and carried out per the University’s guidelines with the intent of selecting the best consultant team for the Cornell Master Plan (CMP).  There were two phases to the process.  In Phase I, the Cornell Master Plan Working Committee (CMPWC) reviewed and discussed the qualifications of 16 invited firms to select a consultant shortlist of 6 firms to submit detailed work proposals.  In Phase II, the consultants were invited to campus for a briefing, an opportunity to meet with the CMPWC and tour the campus, after which they submitted proposals.  The CMPWC reviewed and evaluated the proposals, selecting three finalists for on-campus interviews and recommending two finalists to the Executive Steering Committee (ESC) for presentations.  The final selection was made after considering the recommendations of both committees.
